In my defense, Kai Forbath would have totally made that last kick, though.Now that my bewilderment over that crazy game has subsided, let’s take a look at at the salaries both these guys are making. If they cut Treadwell, his cap hit goes from $2.7 million to $5.8 million. That’s a lot of extra dead money, and unless they re-work deals with other players to free some cap money up, this doesn’t seem very plausible. It would be a classic ‘cut off your nose to spite your face’ move, and it would leave the Vikings thin at WR with no realistic way to sign a free agent. Let’s take a look:If the Vikings were to ‘go in another direction’, as the saying goes, the cap hit and dead cap implications would be minimal, so it’s something that I’m sure is at least being discussed this morning at Winter Park the TCO Performance Center. Have to.Vikings Roster Cuts: Minnesota Vikings release Mack Brown In their quest to trim their roster down to the 53-man limit, the Minnesota Vikings appear to have made a couple of decisions about their running back group.As a part of the final cuts, the Vikings have released running back Mack Brown. He is being waived with an injury designation, which means that if he goes unclaimed on waivers he will go on the Injured Reserve list.Brown, who played his college football at the University of Florida, went undrafted in 2015 and spent time with both the Houston Texans and the Washington Redskins. He was with the Redskins until 2017, when the team waived him. Minnesota picked him up off of waivers, and he actually spent a decent portion of the 2017 season on the Vikings’ 53-man roster, though he was inactive most weeks.I don’t believe that Brown has any practice squad eligibility left, and if he does I’m not sure that the Vikings would be interested in bringing him back, as they have at least one other player that they could add to the practice squad at the running back spot.We’re still waiting for the final handful of moves for the Vikings to officially hit the wire so that we can bring you the full 53-man roster.
